teeheeheee! jen left that for me in my myspace comments today and it made me giggle!

now onto more pressing things, such as this awful news piece that human forwarded my direction today. read it and weep. i did.

US, UK 'worst places for children'

Britain and the United States are the worst places in the industrialised world for children to live, according to a report by the United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef).
They ranked among the bottom third in the study which looked at overall well-being, health and safety, education, relationships, risk and their own sense of well-being.

the rest of the article can be found here.

while i had a sneaking suspicion that something like this was actually the case - despite all of the lip service given to the welfare of children in this culture - it really does smart to see it out loud.

how can this be? how can the global leaders in the war on terror share such a shameful truth? how can they continue to shovel money into warring that results in such destruction while our children's basic needs aren't being met? beware world, this is part and parcel of the deMOCKracy that we seek to spread.

in the words of public enemy - don't believe the hype. we are FAR from being in any postition of superiority.
